Benito Mussolini was born on the 29th of July 1883, was an Italian politician who led the National Fascist Party. Mussolini became the 40th Prime Minister of Italy in the year1922. Mussilini’s official title was “His Excellency Benito Mussolini, Head of Government, Duce of Fascism, and Founder of the Empire” Mussolini had also created and he had held the supreme military rank of First Marshal of the Empire along with King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy, which gave Mussolini and the King joint supreme control over the military of Italy. Mussolini remained in power until he was replaced in 1943 for a short period of time. On the10th of June 1940, Mussolini led Italy into World War II. Benito Mussolini Believed that the war would be short-lived, he decided to declare war on France and Great Britain in order to gain territories in the peace treaty that he knew soon would follow. After three years later, Mussolini was deposed at the Grand Council of Fascism, prompted by the Allied invasion of Italy. Not long after his incarceration began, Mussolini was rescued from prison in the Gran Sasso raid by German special forces. After he was rescued, Mussolini headed the Italian Social Republic in parts of Italy that were not occupied by Allied forces. In late April in the year1945, with a total defeat, Mussolini had attempted to escape to Switzerland, but he was quickly captured and executed on the 28th of April in the year 1945 near Lake Como by Italian partisans.
