Mid Ocean Ridges

by Ismael Diallo

A mid ocean ridge is a mountain on the ocean floor that was formed by volcanic activity.
The mid ocean ridges are formed when two plates are separating and molten magma rises in the gap between the two plates.
The magma cools down and form a new ocean floor. That how the ocean ridges are formed. Example of a ridge is the mid Atlantic ridge. The ridge was formed when the American plate and the Eurasian plate were pulling away from each other.
