Pumpkin Carving Contest

Student Vs Teachers in the Art Room

Let the contest begin!!  With the help of some dedicated students and staff, 22 pumpkins were scooped out in the Art Room in preparation for the contest.

With teachers one side and students on the other, pumpkin saws were laid out and templates at the ready, the contest began. The pressure was on as they only had the lunch hour to carve their creations. The competitiveness was coming out and the results were great. Although the most important result of all, was who won? Teachers or Students ?

Carefully judged by Ms. Stewart, (Art Teacher) and Ms. Carmody, (Librarian), there were two winners from each group.

In the student group Leanne McCormack and Nikita Rothwell took joint first place. In the Staff group Ms. O’Donovan took first prize with Mr. Farrell as runner up.  The prize for the fastest carver went to Ms. Ryan and not to forget Mr. Fennessy who’s pumpkin came highly recommended.

However in the battle of Students vs Teachers, the overall decision was unanimous. The students came out on top.

Well done and thank you to all who helped and participated.
